It was a ok movie wasn't the best movie but if you want something to watch, it will definitely keep you on edge and engaged. Presented in a black and white 35mm film style, The Lighthouse is a psychological powerhouse that does a brilliant job entrapping the viewer into its obscurely feverish world, like something out of Stephen King. It has booming performances by Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattison, atmospheric production design and a lavishly bizarre story, which granted does require a lot of thought and attention to context clues to grasp. It's probably not the most welcoming film to the mainstream, but it's so powerfully dark and technically superb that I highly recommend it and would like to absorb other viewpoints.
